Mr Lekhraj Kripalani as a young man. As a middle aged man he gathered a group of, primarily, young girls around him, as Prajapati Brahma The Gita Sermoniser. By the 1960's he felt that the One True God was uniquely speaking through him to humanity: this is the core belief of BKWSU.
Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University believes that:
GOD..JEHOVAH...ALLAH...SHIVA..THE

...descends from Paramdam, and speaks to them directly through a medium, and has been doing so for many
years, though the number of years is disputed.
BKWSU core belief is that God speaks at this particular time of human history, and that He (sic) cuts through the dross and
verbiage inherent in all 'religions' and presents the purity of actual 'Godly Knowledge' through the one true religion. His words are printed and published as 'murlis', meaning flute, as in 'God plays the flute of knowledge'. Murlis
are read in BK centres in some 120 countries daily, and are available online..You can even hear and 'see' God speaking through the present medium of Dadi Gulzar on You Tube.
The Knowledge that God presents is curious, confronting, revelatory, passionate, conceptually odd but with a strong mythic reality, and warrants serious study by religious writers and academics.
However, murlis are also 'Revised', that is to say redacted, especially those spoken between
1964-1978, by BK leadership, who remove passages God spoke that leadership would prefer that He hadn't: the institution is keen to pursue worldly respectability, and prefers God to be presented as a really nice fatherly soul, though allowed some iconoclastic
traits, but some Godly observations are rather politicaly and socially incorrect. The murli, as originally spoken, was some four pages: it is now reduced to two pages.. plus 'inspirations'. These pertinent redactions were recently described by a member
