'THE AVINASHI SOCIAL CLUB' : THE MOVIE

The graphic above was made for the documentary film THE AVINASHI SOCIAL  CLUBwww.vimeo.com/26821419 The film was made by a group of freethinking but committed longtime Australian and Indian BKs: it was filmed and edited in just two weeks to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the BK Retreat Centre at Leura, near Sydney, in 2011.

The film was the first attempt to bring aspects of the newly discovered BKWSU history to a wider BK audience. It tells the story of the young girls, now elderly women, who were among the early followers of Lekraj Kripalani , or 'Prajapati God Brahma' : later known as Prajapita Brahma  and 'Brahma Baba'. The film  draws exclusively on historical documents of the day, and BKs own publications . However,The Avinashi Social Club was, alas, immediately banned by Mr Charles Hogg, BKA Board Chair, from screening in BKA centres, with the support of the BKA board.. most of whom had yet to view the film.🤔 The board then sent out a survey to the BK audience to find out their  opinions about the film : the response was overwhelmingly positive. However, senior BKA board members spread the word that the responses were overwhelmingly negative. Two years later, to the board's credit, an apology for the misinformation was circulated to BKA stakeholders.

Interestingly, although the film was made in 2011, documents  discovered since then have shed further light on the BKWSU story as presented as the official history in Adi Dev.ADI DEV : WHAT ? You can view these documents, photos, books, letters and trivia at  www.brahmakumarisresearch.org

As the graphic above indicates, the film was also screened at Peace Village NY, to the BK Global Integrated Media group (GIM) later in the year: members happily took home a  USB  of the show, to screen back home...🙂 So if you like, click on the link above and have a squizz at the film...

"....banned by the Australian Brahma Kumaris Board..." To enforce the ban based on a lie about member response, is corrupt. A corrupt board.
