Suresh Oberoi makes sparks on TV with Shivani!
Sister Shivani is by far the most popular spokes person for the Brahma Kumaris, with a substantial following among the Indian diaspora. Shivani tours Oz coast to coast in August.
Shivani breaks the mold of the aging, well very aged, BK leadership. Shivani is only in her 40's, a highly educated professional with a degree in Engineering, and runs a software
business with her husband Vishal in trendy Gurgaon, outside Delhi.
Her BK fame came both accidentally and suddenly. Shivani was helping backstage with rather dull Brahma
Kumaris television presentations in Delhi, where senior teachers recorded programs. Then in 2007, due to no senior teacher turning up, she was asked to front the program. And...well friends... the rest is history.😋
The TV slot soon became the hit show Awakening with Brahma Kumaris,
in which BK Shivani partners with Bollywood star Suresh Oberoi, who asks her good hard 'spirituality in day to day practise' questions.. its fabulous chemistry...and down to earth, praise the Lord. Mind you Shivani does seem to have her own
fluffy interpretations of BK philosophy, rather at odds with core BK beliefs, as you can read hereSHIVANI WOW!🙂
Initially, Shivani's instant fame didn't go down too well with some of the more senior BK sisters, and she was taken off the program. Audiences disappeared. Fortunately good sense and a bit of spiritual nudging
prevailed, and her excellent series of Awakening happened, filmed in beautiful locations, and its a ripper. Available in a DVD boxed set.
